Emergency Dentistry
If you’re bleeding, experiencing severe pain, or have lost a tooth or tooth replacement, you may need same-day dental care. We offer emergency dentistry services at Greene Street Dental. We are better prepared to assist you than the emergency room, as we can diagnose your condition, offer pain management solutions, and treat the problem in one visit. We hope you’ll consider our expert dentists for urgent dental care in Lower Manhattan.
It can be hard to tell if you’re experiencing a dental emergency, especially if you’ve already been putting off treatment for that sore, throbbing tooth for a long time. It won’t hurt to call and ask our office if you should come in for an emergency appointment, but there are a few common signs and symptoms to look out for.
Don’t wait to see an emergency dentist if you’re experiencing any of the following:
In these situations, your health and the lifespan of your teeth could be in danger. We offer same-day treatment for all of these conditions.
In some cases, it’s not a good idea to wait until you can get on the schedule to see a dentist. Unfortunately, some dental offices don’t offer same-day services. If your usual dentist can’t get you in the same day, is it worth it to go to an emergency dentist? Usually, the answer is yes. Even better, choose a general dentist’s office that also offers emergency care, so someone who is familiar with your health and pre-existing conditions can make well-informed decisions about your treatment.
Our same-day dentistry procedures include:
We may perform other same-day procedures depending on your unique situation.
One of the most common reasons for an emergency visit is an infected tooth. Infected teeth can progress into dental abscesses, or large, swollen bumps on the gums. In either case, an infected tooth is considered a dental emergency because that infection can spread to other areas of the body. In rare cases, this spreading infection can cause sepsis, a potentially life-threatening condition.
If you’re experiencing any of the symptoms of an infected tooth (such as an abscess or severe tooth pain), visit our same-day dentist for an emergency tooth extraction. If your tooth can be saved, we may conduct a root canal or another restorative procedure.

The office is efficient, friendly and so close to my home. I liked the dentist very much. He made me laugh and I would trust him to perform dental work unlike my last dentist.

Very friendly and not judgemental after I came in after several years of not seeing a dentist. Front office staff was also very nice and accommodating with scheduling. Overall a very pleasant experience. It was a relaxed setting and I’d recommend going if you’re anxious after a long time without seeing a dentist.

This practice is fantastic with kids. Our hygienist Nishu was thorough and patient with our two year old and his very first dentist visit ended up being a breeze. The office is prompt and staff are always friendly. Highly recommend this practice for both adults and kids.
